October 13, 20178 yr Popular Post A few years ago, quite a few, I made a lighthouse for my sister-in-law. I designed it and looked and looked for some things to decorate it with. I was visiting Savannah Beach and a souvenir shop provided the boat, sea captain, birds. I has small socket and I installed a 220 volt bulb in 110 . October 13, 20178 yr That's really neat, Ron! A long time ago, an electrician friend told be about that trick. Higher voltage bulbs in places that are hard to reach. They last a long time.
October 14, 20178 yr In real life Jessy, they are used for navigational purposes to help ships stear a safe course along the coastal waters. The miniatures are generally used as decorative lawn ornaments, or on smaller scales, for home decorations possibly in a den or patio. Lighthouse designs are generally very pleasing to the eye. October 25, 20196 yr You can also put a diode in line with your bulb. Last forever.... Cuts the power in half ....
