September 20, 20178 yr For a few years I have had the Delta version of what SuperMax now offers in a 1-1/2 hp dust collector. In my opinion it's the best designed dust collector for it's size, and a good value. No need to modify the dust collector at all in order to add a separator. I can't think of a more affordable brand name 2 stage dust collector for my shop, and it works very well. I've had it filled up right to the bottom of the side inlet on the separator. September 21, 20178 yr I guess I'm on the fence as to whether this is good news. I still remember the service problems they had, and had purchased one of their "Platinum" lathes...a piece of Chinese junk. I've had a Supermax 19/38 on my shopping list, I probably either need to move on it, or wait a few years and see what happens to the company.
September 21, 20178 yr Author I had heard about the service issues, Fred, but decided on the Laguna 14 SUV bandsaw anyway because it best fit my needs. Turned out I needed service right away and have used them several times over the last 2-3 years - they have been stellar, even proactive at times. They have made several changes in their CS department and it shows. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again if the need arises. David
September 21, 20178 yr Good to hear, especially since the service problems I had heard about was related mostly to their bandsaws.
September 21, 20178 yr The majority of the reviews I've read on their 14/12 BS have been very favorable...It's on my radar next spring assuming the $500 certificate I "won" here remains valid. As David noted, almost everything I've read about their service & support is exactly as he described it. Woodcraft (as a retailer) also has favorable reviews of their products.
