Someone to watch?

Featured Replies

There is a fellow on Youtube, going by the name of Ishitani Furniture......Carefully watch HOW he does his set-ups.    Even I learned a few things from watching his way of doing things.

It's not about the tools....it is more about how he checks and rechecks things.    Never seems to be in a big hurry,  just works at his own pace.

Check a few of his videos out, and watch HOW he works.....

that's what big hammers are for, to make things fit after you have run out of chances to cut them correctly.

I see...HAVE you taken the time to WATCH any of them?

Extremely methodical. Almost assembly line procedure but not for speed, more for accuracy, I think.

I never saw crossed wedges for securing chair legs. Beautiful when finished!

Thanks!

i watched one after i posted.  putting together a cane seat chair.

and i was correct.  his joints are too tight.

am i some type of "recognized expert"  no.  but i know what i'm talking about.  they are too tight if he has to hit them that hard that many times to bring them together.

as for his designs....meh.

but with good video, nice music, good editing, anyone can either look great or terrible.

are the chairs comfy?  sturdy?  that's what matters.

Thanks, Steve. But, his style of video is not my cup of tea. Nice furniture, though.
