Popular Post Cal Posted August 6, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) Well, almost anyhow. I shared a couple pics of the dormer work done earlier in the spring. The rest of the job fought me every step of the way. The floor was very uneven, ceiling texture would not stick uniformly, even the paint would not roll on the walls in a good fashion. But I stuck with it. Herewith, a couple before and after pics. Hopefully you will be able to tell which is which! Grandpadave52 Posted August 6, 2017 Report Posted August 6, 2017 Very, very nice Cal...I really like the baseboard and door casing width and detail. Running the floors on a diagonal is a great touch too. Very befitting for a Southern Georgia home. Cal 1 Quote
Ron Dudelston Posted August 6, 2017 Report Posted August 6, 2017 Nicely done, Cal. I can sympathize with you. I didn't think my summer floor project would ever end. Cal 1 Quote
Smallpatch Posted August 6, 2017 Report Posted August 6, 2017 Mighty fine work. Actually I would say an artist has finished another great looking project.. Which was more enjoyable, the house work or the work of getting back and forth across all those states in record time. Cal 1 Quote
Fred W. Hargis Jr Posted August 6, 2017 Report Posted August 6, 2017 Great work, Cal. It's especially gratifying when you have to overcome all those hiccups you ran into. Well done! Quote

Cal Posted August 7, 2017 Author Report Posted August 7, 2017 I appreciate all the kind words and encouragement over the past 6 (?) months I have been on this project and to these pics. Lots of learning went on here. Several upgrades and changes made to make the whole room "more better". My BIL asked me one day how many times I might personally use the upstairs once it is done. I surprised him by saying I might personally *never* use the upstairs. In fact, might only go up there only 1 or 2 times a year. His reply was, wow - a lot of effort & time to upgrade space you won't use? My reply - this is practice for when I remodel the downstairs! Cal HARO50 and Grandpadave52 2 Quote
