Due to a condition in my hands, I am extra clumsy and drop more things than most people.  Those things always roll where you can't see or in places unknown. I had a magnet on a pole, but it was limited, wouldn't bend.  I got a couple of small bar magnets at HD, a fiberglass pole from a bike flag and made a handle out of ply.  As luck would have it, I dropped a very tiny screw, one so small that I'd never find another or even hope to see. The paint wasn't dry on my new pick up, but I used it anyway. NICE...........I found it on the second sweep over a crack in the cement.:D

I think you need a wood magnet for a pencil Dave.

Might have to leave it there.  The lead makes it too heavy to lift.

Cool idea

Bet they're only $19.99 each but if I call now, I'll get two for this great value and only have to pay separate S&H...

You've been peeking!

I didn't know that they still use lead in pencils. Seems everything I do is old school! I picked up two old school pencil sharpeners a while back to sharpen pencils in my shop. Only problem is: I chuck them in my cordless drill and sharpen them on my belt sander! Looks like I should use my new style drill instead of having to crank it while holding it against the sanding belt.

dare we ask how much???

Good idea. I have a piece of steel flat bar with a magnet on the end of it. Serves the same purpose to retrieve the nut /washer from the bottom of the table saw (cabinet style) when I drop one...and that does happen frequently! Losing my grip also. :-(

Very cool...now we need one for brass, aluminum and stainless...

Makes my crowns hurt to chew that stuff. Besides, I just wanted the trading cards anyways...so I could clip Mickey Mantle, Roger Marris and Yogi Berra to my fender bracket to rub the spokes on my bike wheels :o:blink:

That should work well finding the dropped goodies in sawdust and shavings

Oh yes,  tossing a dust pan of sawdust and realizing you saw the tiny piece you was looking for and it was headed to the bottom of huge trash can full of things you don't want to sort thru. :o
