June 20, 20178 yr In the not to distant future, I'll be making a series of canes for distribution to various VA facilities. I've made a couple for family but, they are pretty plain. I'd like to incorporate a simple Celtic knot and/or other simple designs. Can anyone explain the cutting and glue up process for the simple (looks like a figure 8, in the round) Celtic knot? Any help and suggestions would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance, guys.
June 20, 20178 yr Popular Post Gene, they are pretty easy to do. The kid in this video shows how to do it step by step. It's the method I have used with great results Steve
June 20, 20178 yr Popular Post What Steve said. You may need to use the table saw for the cuts to get a "thick" enough knot. This is pretty much the same thing I do for the rolling pins. Remember- don't cut all of the way thru the cane blank. Leaving a small piece of connecting material will keep the knot aligned during glue ups.
June 20, 20178 yr Author Awesome video. Thanks so much, Steve. And Lew, thanks for the tip. I would have cut completely through. Went back and watched the video again and saw that his cuts were incomplete. I think I can do this. You guys are great.
