May 27, 20179 yr Popular Post Working on beads of courage bowls. Turned in Bradford pear, cherry, and pecan. With 8 in progress turned the bottom off one and went thru. Had put in firewood pile after I tried to remount to square bottom for glueing a piece on. Came off and split so that one will get a new carving idea. This is a top turned from one piece This is before bottom came out
May 27, 20179 yr Wonderful cause for those bowls! Seems like turning problems are contagious. The vase I am/was making cracked in several places. Not sure if it is even salvageable.
June 5, 20179 yr Now you've made me feel guilty Gerald for turning a pretty mature Bradford Pear tree into firewood a few years back...Winds associated with a tornado snapped it off at the ground. Who knew it could have been turned (no pun intended) into works of art. Great work and even greater cause!
