Good Monday Morning Patriot Woodworkers!

What did you do over the weekend and what have you planned for the week ahead!

Anything is fair game, woodworker projects, family trips, personal trips, events, all of it, we want to know what you did.

News

This week we will be moving our community to a new server, an advisory message will be posted on our home page stating when the move will take place. We hope this to be a smooth transition, but there will be some temporary outages. We'll try to make it as painless as possible.

Thank you

Thank you all for being here, and making our community what it is today. We know that without you, we have no community, we need you here, we want you here, and we greatly appreciate all the wonderful content everyone here is contributing.

Two men whipsawing lumber, possibly at Bennett, British Columbia, ca. 1898.

Someone in AZ took me up on the free lathe.

Our cyanide pellets and applicator device was delivered Saturday. I hope to ruin some (a bunch) of gopher's Monday.

There are so many holes that probing for the runs may take all day.

But, tomorrow, hopefully, it's back to jig making and more fun in the shop.

Relaxed and did some visiting over the weekend.  Got a couple boxes to make this week.

Yard chores (yuck) and some shop time. I still need to make 2 drawers for the router storage cabinet and put all of the bit in there (that will be a chore in itself).

Still entertaining relatives!

Brother asked for a "Woodwhisperer" end grain cutting board late Friday night to give as a gift to one of their friends. Got it finished up Sunday afternoon.

More diversions the remainder of the week....

It was out and gone before I had a chance to take a picture.

Very similar to this one, however-

Chauffeur service for grand-daughters. Finally got to the root cause of the truck intermittent "stumbling" above 45-50 mph. Replaced #1 cylinder over the plug coil...had replaced #6 cyl. a couple months ago; seems to be running very well now.

Watched it rain most of Saturday so spent some time watching birds at the feeders. I did manage to get a new run of coax for satellite receiver between monsoons and did some clean-up, picking up in the garage during. Also listened to Indy 500 Qualifications even though I know very few of the drivers by name anymore. Being a native Hoosier, I still love the "Roar of the engines" and listening to "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" every year.

Stopped at HD after church yesterday and made a purchase with the $$ I saved fixing the truck myself:P I picked up a P1811 Drill, charger, battery set...I really didn't need the drill, but to end up with 4 batteries and another charger was worth the price IMO. I have several Ryobi One+ 18V tools I've picked up at flea markets/yard sales for pennies on the $$...just didn't have enough good batteries.

Just got back a bit ago from oldest grandson's Kindergarten recognition program. He received the "Trustworthy" Recognition  Award for the year. Back to mowing this PM and tomorrow ahead of the next round of rains expected to show up tomorrow PM. Still have that limb to remove if the winds stay calm. So far this week, we've had one day in a row without rain:rolleyes:.

ONE 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Compact Drill/Driver Kit   and got these free  ad2a715c-9f26-4236-826e-51de9fdb97ea_400_compressed.jpg

Went to my first meeting with our local woodturner's club.  Met a bunch of nice people, and got some good feedback on my massive fail with my first attempt at bowl making.  I will post some pics of that on the turner's forum when I get around to it.  After that, got to feeling bad and spent the rest of the weekend either in bed or the bathroom.  Taking it easy for now, I still have to go to work tonight.

Sorry to hear that Tom, I am not a turner, but they make it look too easy and come out so beautiful,I love turnings,(to look at).

@John Morris   is that photo the basis of the phrase, "That's the pits?"  Getting a face, head, and body full of wet sawdust all day.
