 Dave, Hope you got to watch the video " Lowell's Boat Shop"  that John Morris  posted above.

They had an Industry segment that featured Lowells Boat Shop, I have watched it several times and each time I get pulled into the shop and I could almost lay a blanket down on that ol wood floor and fall asleep in my imagination, I love that place!

    Al / John, I guess I had missed the video post...watched it this AM with my coffee...AWESOME!...loved every minute of it...the education and school "apprenticeship" program is fantastic. The living and working history of a 300+ y/o trade is amazing...This should be a "must see" story for every school kid in America! THANKS!!

    I watched the video again, first time in a year, and darn near teared up towards the end with the builder as he was talking about preserving the art. What a neat video.

    If only I was younger....

     

    I took out line shafts and steam engines from and old textile factory.

    If i had the time and money i would build a beam barn and hook it all

    back up again as a wood work shop...
