I found this drill chuck in some tools I bought at auction.  It is really unique in that it has a 1/4" through hole.  It can hold up to a 3/8" bit.  What I like is the fact that when starting holes I can choke up on the bit and thus the bits will have less flex and drill accurate holes with less tendency to veer of track.  Only problem is I cannot find where to purchase one to lead those who may want one.  It has Daytona 0.6-6mm as the only markings on it..  A few pictures with a 1/8" bit 6" long.

 

 

 

That really would be handy for drilling on the lathe. Especially with smaller gauge bits that tend to bend.

Love it, specially the fact long bits can go through, that is convenient!

That is really unusual. But, quite handy, though. 

It's not so much the chuck but the arbor that makes it so special.
