April 14, 20179 yr Popular Post I had an old friend pass away yesterday. He and I have known each other since 1986. It seems like yesterday and not 31 years. We used to work together quite and bit and he was always there when I needed him. Anyway, he'll be sorely missed. You would have never known that he was sick, but he is gone, nevertheless. There were no outward indications of anything wrong. As a matter of fact he was, in all appearances, in excellent shape and not all banged up or worn out like most his age. That alone makes me sad because there was no indications of anything being wrong. Perhaps if there had been I would have recognized it and at least been there to help. I may have been able to save his life if I had only known. I don't know for sure when he will finally be laid to rest, there have been no decisions made, yet. All I know is that he is GONE! If I had the ability I would raise him from the dead, but, alas, it is not to be. It is impossible to do so. So, unless someone here has a source for a BC178 Bumper and a LB3499 seal my Senco SN325 framing nailer is officially dead. Rest in Peace my little friend. April 14, 20179 yr Sorry to hear of your loss - friends like that, well, they become a part of you and no replacement will ever be quite the same.
April 14, 20179 yr Sorry for your loss. I have a friend who was a Bostitch sales rep. He used to hold demos and repair clinics at the Borgs, for contractors. He had a garage full of old parts. My point is that maybe there is a Senco guy that has a secret stache.
April 14, 20179 yr I don't know if it would help but in the sixties Senco use to have trucks ready to go and service their products out in the field when carpenters needed their tools repaired while on the job. These repairs were free. Lots of new homes were built back then. Anyway you might check Lubbock, Tx and see if they still have parts for the older tools.... Jess Littlefield
April 14, 20179 yr Sorry to hear of your loss. When the time comes and you're ready to let go, be sure to recycle him. A Soylent Green sort of thing I guess.
April 14, 20179 yr Author Thank you all for your kind thought and well wishes. Unfortunately, there is nothing to be done. The parts are obsolete and no longer available. Even the local rebuild shop has searched across the country for a source of parts to no avail. The repairman told SENCO, that, he would have at least 30 happy customers if he could only get these particular parts. I guess I would make #31! This is only in my geographical area...think what the number is across the US and probably Canada. SENCO was unfeeling and was only willing to send me PDF's on two of their comparable models. These newer ones, from what the repairman told me, are less then robust. Drop them once (and they will get dropped...rest assured) and they are toast. The SN325 you would pick up and go back to work. At this point in life it is not cost effective to buy a new one...it just would not get used enough to pay for itself. I hesitate to buy used/abused. I guess that in the future if I have a real need and the project calls for it, then I will consider acquiring another gun. It still does NOT diminish the pain from the loss.
April 14, 20179 yr You had me, I was hooked, I was ready to send you flowers till the last few lines!

April 14, 20179 yr Author ALL MAY NOT BE LOST! Dadio strikes, again! Herb sent me a couple of links. One was for the LB3499 seal on eBay. That led me to the website of a gentleman in North Carolina. Long story short...seal, bumper and "O" ring kit are available and have been ordered. It looks like my old friend will rise from the dead after all. Thanks, Herb!

April 14, 20179 yr Author Here is the link to the place where I found the parts. https://www.rebuild-kits.com/ The owners name is William Hendricks and he, also, sells on eBay. He even has a YouTube video on rebuilding the SN325 He carries rebuild kits and parts for a lot of the more popular guns. Edited April 14, 20179 yr by schnewj
April 14, 20179 yr " The repairman told SENCO, that, he would have at least 30 happy customers if he could only get these particular parts. I guess I would make #31! " Make sure you tell your repair guy about your source. Sounds like he could have some happy customers.

" Make sure you tell your repair guy about your source. Sounds like he could have some happy customers. I thought the exact same thing. I don't know if they are there tomorrow. But, I will call on Monday and give him the source. He told me that the two parts that I needed were impossible to find. He had reached out all over the country looking for a source.
April 14, 20179 yr the vendors that do have parts bought up Senco's older tool inventories when they reorganized...
