April 12, 20179 yr Popular Post ANGEL OF HANDSAW GRIP/HAND HOLT, I COPIED ON 1/2"PLY. THIS PLY IS 18" LONG X 6" W. FITTED A RUNNER ON BOTTOM = GROVE, PLY FITS DOWN IN.=1" WIDE. AT HAND HOLT END OF RUNNER IS A HEEL BOUT 3/16 PROUD OF REMAINDER OF RUNNER(HEEL IS WHAT PUSHES MATERIAL TO/PAST TS BLADE). NOW OTHER END OF RUNNER GLUE STRIP OF SAND PAPER, HELPS HOLD RUNNER IN PLACE ON TOP OF PIECE BEING PUSHED. PURPOSE::KEEP YOUR HAND ABOVE BLADE, HAVING CONTROL OF WORK PIECE. YEAW, I HAVE A SMALLER ONE FOR PUSHING THRU THIN CUTS. Edited December 6, 20178 yr by Buckaroo tags added
April 12, 20179 yr I would just warn that I had a new carbide router bit ruined recently when it grazed into some sandpaper I'd glued down to keep the block from slipping. I'd prefer to see something else, like shelf liner. I don't want to ruin my Forrest WWII blade.

April 13, 20179 yr Author NO MORE PUSH STICKS =THE SANDPAPER IS ONLY AS WIDE AS THE RUNNER,,,,,NOT WRAPPEEDD. OK, OK.
April 13, 20179 yr Don't think a nick on the sandpaper will significantly affect a carbide tipped blade. Maybe a router bit because of it's thinner carbide at the cutting edge. At any rate, the cost of a blade sharpening pales compared to the cost of a possible hospital visit. Edited April 13, 20179 yr by Gene Howe
