April 9, 20179 yr Popular Post Decided to make a Captain Eddie 12 Cent Pen for each of my cousins. Every August we have a reunion so I have plenty of time to get them done. I did manage to turn and apply finish to 20 of them so far. Did I say I have 46 cousins? I have a bunch of Brazilian flooring cut offs and I am using some for these. I also turn the brass nibs for them on my Unimat hobby lathe. The ink cartridge is from a standard Bic pen so here are a couple that are done and the misc parts. I also make stands/bases for them. I have them to do yet too.
April 9, 20179 yr I bet your family loves when you all get together. Neat project Dan. That was one of the first videos I watched when I started turning seriously for fun. Steve
April 9, 20179 yr they are some seriously nice in the hand pens.. for the ham handed or arthritic types adding a grip (available where ever pencils are sold) is a blessing... most any type will work really well and there are a bazillion different kinds/types/styles/shapes/materials/sizes... April 10, 20179 yr Those are really nice looking pens...I really like the idea of using the BIC disposables...easy to obtain refills. Great gifts and very useful too.

People love them so I keep making them.
