Sorry, I just saw this.   La-z-boy used to have a lifetime warranty on mechs.    A lot of the other mechs are OEM by Leggett & Platt or Omega-Motion.    I can give you contacts for any of these if you can identify the actual mfr (look for a tag on the footrest's arm).  I've had to buy L&P and Omega-Motion will repair or replace if you pay both ways shipping.  If you ever work on La-z-boy, be sure to have Torx drivers.   They're about the only one that uses them, and they use them in most parts.
