Not into pen turning ,but admire their work a lot and hope they have a good turn out.

I got some pen kits in an auction buy and have recently been making some.  Since the show is close enough to me I will try and attend to see what is latest and greatest.  They do make a nice gift.

I like to get them as gifts.......hint,hint...:D;)

I never got caught up in the pen turning craze. Sure, I turned a few and even sold a few but it seemed to me anyone could buy a kit and with little or no skill make a pen. I was wrong, there are guys doing some amazing things with castings and even making beautiful pens completely from scratch. Still, I have gone a different direction with my turnings so I probably won't attend. On the other hand, I imagine it would be a good place to learn techniques that could be used for other turnings.

You don't need to learn anything, you just figure it out as you go.:o

That's what I did. Figured it out as I went. Watch youtube, read up on it and join some forums to help.

Trust me. The way some of the pens that some guys or gals turn are far better than mine. I'm no expert but I think  they look good and I'm still learning.
