A boatload of benches

Featured Replies

PopWood just posted a compendium of articles on workbenches over the last couple of decades.   If you are thinking of building one, worth checking.

Also, the Cincinnati Wooddworking Club is having Chris Schwarz come speak at our November meeting.   Topic to be determine, but may be benches.   You are all welcome to attend.   Second Saturday morning in November.

Right up my alley, been humming and hawing over a bench the past year. Thanks for the link!

HMMMMMMMM......Didn't see mine in there. Those are very professional looking, Quite a selection to pick from, I think I like the Shaker best, lots of Drawers.

Thanks for posting,

Herb

I made a Tage Frid plan bench very early after I started to get serious in woodworking.  About the same time, Frank Klausz wrote an article in FWW, so I adopted some of his, too.    It's similar to the last one in the list.  Fortunately, I have these issues, so I can look any of them up if needed.   Bob Flexner wrote an article when the Frid bench came up in the magazine.  http://www.popularwoodworking.com/woodworking-blogs/traditional-danish-workbench

In the meantime, I picked up an Emmert patternmaker's vice.  It's looking for a home so it doesn't become a boat anchor..   On my to-do list is to make a bench, mostly used for hand power tools (drill, router, sander) and assembly.  And for the Emmert.
