February 27, 20179 yr Saw this in the AAW Forum and going to try it today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ_oxNaSLyk
February 28, 20179 yr Gerald, the one you made looks like it has more slope than his. What are your dimensions? Does it work OK? I could not make out what he said when he said a printable version would be available. Thanks
February 28, 20179 yr Author The printable version is in the comments at the bottom and you will have to expand comments. When printed the size is not proportional and it has to be enlarged which I had trouble doing. The one I did does not match the profile so does not flip well. The center is 27.5 mm , length 90mm and ends 20mm . One of my ends is smaller. I do believe it will do better with the weights. Only had time to do one today
February 28, 20179 yr Okay, I've watched the video a couple times, the maple one is just wood, is that right? Hickory is a pretty heavy wood I wonder if it would work well? Those things don't look like they should do that to me. Steve
February 28, 20179 yr I found this site. It has some extra details and a printable PDF. http://jonathanjamieson.com/projects/kururin/
February 28, 20179 yr Thanks Dan, I got my template ( eighth inch pressed board) made and glued up some Hickory. I'll let it set a few hours and give it a try. I am going to drill quarter inch holes in each end and screw in set screws. Let you know how thing worked. Still picture if it don't work.....video if it does

February 28, 20179 yr Guys, my first attempt did not go well. I've never turned with a template before and I did not get the dimensions correct. It does work, but takes more force to make it move and don't go far. Oh well another try tomorrow.
