January 28, 20179 yr Popular Post Went this morning to buy a used Delta 46-460 and got a great deal. Lathe, stand, and G3D Chuck for 400. The chuck needs a lot of cleaning of rust and cosmoline. Had a little rust or heavy dirt on the ways but otherwise near new and probably only used about 10 hours. I will not use much , mostly for demos and off site turning of which I do not do much. Then I figure when I decide to sell could get all I put into it and maybe more.
January 28, 20179 yr Congrats Gerald. Those are nice lathes. I bought one new last year as Amazon had a stupid price on them but(I hate to tell you this) I haven't used it yet. I bought mine for the same reasons, off-site turning and demos. So far all I have used it for is to catch dust on my work bench. Just last week I bought a miter saw stand to mount it on as I figured that might be pretty handy. Stand was not long enough so I returned it. I think I'm going to break down and buy the Delta stand for it. Steve
January 28, 20179 yr Congrats! It's getting harder and harder to find great deals (at least around me).
January 28, 20179 yr Good find Gerald...look at it this way...not important how often you used it BUT... You "rescued" the lathe from a life of neglect...
January 29, 20179 yr Nice score Gerald. I use mine almost exclusively. I don't do a lot of big turning but have a larger lathe when needed. The one horsepower is enough to turn most anything I care to turn. They are a nice lathe and quiet.

You know how they get all stiff and cramped up from sitting too long.
