Good Evening Friends,

Since I have been a woodworker for soon to be 69 years and now the quiz writer of these forums I feel that I have earned the right to be called something other than just a member. I know I haven't been on here as long as some of you but, I would appreciate a little more than just a member.

Thank you all.

Ralph, this has been a major, huge, gross oversight by yours truly, so sorry! You are absolutely correct! You have been "Forum Host" since you started the quizzes! Let me fix this for you sir, and please forgive my lapse!

Ralph, you are now an official "Forum Host" as stated below your avatar, the "member" designation should say "Journeyman" but it has not auto triggered yet after your 1000th post. You have over 1000 posts, something is bottle-necking in our software, allow us some time to fix that issue for ya sir.

Hey Ralph, I'd hold out for Grand Woodworking Poobah.  Speaking as an Admin, I'd make the boss give you a six figure salary like the rest of us.  :-)

Ralph is the exception...

i told my last boss, call me what you want, just pay me what i want.

Forum Host is a good moniker but he is a master carpenter first.  Have to understand the way the software works.

Triggers. A certain amount of posts and topics a member contributes determines the title. It's all for fun. It's an auto trigger when you reach the number. When I get in tonight I can post the benchmarks just for clarity.

Even if George Nakashima (RIP) joined us, he'd have to start out as a "Gopher". You gotta pay your dues on TPW, nobody is better, or bigger than the community of TPW, you gotta pay yer dues folks.

Ralph, we can pay you the same salary I make, or you can put in for a 10 percent raise over what I make. Your choice.

Maybe that will help with the dues.  Ralph should come around more often and get his title boosted.  We would like that real well.

Hmmm. 10% of 0 = ?  What's in a name.  Heck, I'm still an apprentice. BUT: "Forum Host" and "Ralph Allen Jones" do seem to blend well.

Speaking about the number of posts, have I been naughty again? I happened to notice that my number of post dropped between yesterday and today. I was wondering if some were deleted...

I don't think so Chips. In an effort to rebuild Ralph's post count and get his avatar to show "Journey Man", I flipped the Rebuild Post Count switch. The software robot went through every members posts and topics and did a recount. If yours dropped it was because there was a faulty count to begin with. The post count may have counted posts that you saved, but deleted, but the count did not subtract it. But no body here has deleted your posts. Although, if you remember I did accidentally delete an entire topic that was quite popular, it was the Moaners and Groaners It think, the post count does not go backwards, so the recount would have taken that major deletion into consideration.

Clear as mud?

When Ralph came aboard he was welcomed as a staff member/forum host, but we forgot to flip the switch to reflect his duties.

I'm 73, I'm just happy to be alive and posting. Call me what you want.......I'll still be me.

You might not be happy if your called late for supper:P

Ha, I guess there is an exception to every rule.
