B & D Router Guide

Featured Replies

I inherited from my dad a Black and Decker 7614 Router, Type 1, 1-1/2 HP, 25,000 RPM, 9.0 amps, that runs exceptionally well.  I would like to find a Straight and Circular Guide that fits this router.  Any suggestions on a Black and Decker or any other brand that might be a fit?

No suggestions, but welcome to the forum!

I do not have a suggestion either, but welcome aboard! I am sure there will be someone along with a great idea

Welcome Skip, I did a little googling and I found some Type 3's but no Type 1.

On that note, have you thought of making your own? From what I saw of the Type 3's they appear to be made a little cheaply, I think you could make some straight and circle guides that will suit you better.

Welcome Skip. I'll agree with John, making your own would be the way to go. Bing search shows little in the way of guides for B&D. Circle guides are available. Homemade are endless. Remove the base plate from your router and use as a template for drilling the holes to match your router, you my have to purchase longer screws.

There we go! Perfect!

could look to Jasper...

check out craftsman. b&d used to make their routers back in the day.

Welcome aboard Skip,

If you make your own circle template, I used a piece of laminate flooring.  Works good, is very slick and about 3-4' long.

Here is a pic of mine attached to a long arm for a recent project.
