Ron Altier Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 They are not done yet, but I went to Good Will and hand picked each one from a box that around 50 in it.. Tested for flexability and chose these. At 10 cents each, I'd say a real bargain Dadio and HARO50 2 Quote

HARO50 Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 Careful with those plastic handles... I don't know if I would trust them. John Quote
Ron Altier Posted January 18, 2017 Author Report Posted January 18, 2017 I don't put much force on them, just a slight bend. This is my first effort on scrap. It is working fine, but wil have to play with them. I know they get dull quickly, but my grinder is right beside my lathe. To be continued. HARO50 1 Quote

Gerald Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 How do you sharpen a tool like this? Quote
Ron Altier Posted January 19, 2017 Author Report Posted January 19, 2017 I use a bench grinder, beside my lathe. The material is usually stainless, low grade. It dulls easily but sharpening take only a second. I like experimenting with different angles and arcs Quote
Kevin Beitz Posted January 12, 2020 Report Posted January 12, 2020 Take a D-cell battery apart for the carbon rod. Smash it up with a hammer to get carbon power. Heat the tip of your tool red hot and stick it in the carbon power to cool. Case hardened... Done. Quote
