After recommendations from my band of brothers here the Garage/Shop is getting insulation.

I am getting blown in insulation for the ceiling and walls.  The ceiling is pretty straight forward. They have installed baffle in the roof joist bays and pump in 16-20" of insulation.

For the walls, they have drilled 3" holes in each stud bay to blow in the insulation. It looks like my shop will have a blanket before long. The company could not have picked a better day, it is 42*, Cloudy, and Misty today. However the two guys in the attic are still sweating.

 

From a another discussion about the 2x4 trusses, there were two guys up there. They tossed up a few 1x8s and up they went.

win-win...she get's the warm car and you end of with a cozy year-a-round retreat...almost liked someone planned it that way or something.

Ok. Here is the final thoughts.

 

Someone here suggested that I get a 1500 watt electric oil heater from Home Depot, so I did. I have it set on Eco mode at 75*. No jacket, long sleeve t-shirt, pants, 45* and clear out. Minor work and I am sweating. 

I'd say the insulation is helping. I can only imagine I will be able to turn down the heat once the floor gets warm enough. 

 

I think I am set for now but i am still looking at natural gas options, because it's cheaper than electricity.

Take a look at Procom natural gas flameless heaters.

Thanks. My door was insulated from the factory. I had no idea it would be such a good thing when I got it, on sale, open box, because I am cheap.

BTW, we're not cheap. We just practice extreme frugality.
