Morning Y'all,

I'm new here.  I know Stick from over at Router Forums, and he was kind enough to invite me here.  I'm a retired engineer from central Mississippi who never quite grew up.  I still love bulldozers, cranes and things that make sawdust.  I build mostly furniture items to use at home.

A hearty Welcome, Andy. I remember your handle from the router forums. You'll find this forum a friendly place to call home. Lots of great guys here.

good to know ya made it Andy...

I posted your stave computer and that went well... rumor control has it that more of the like is on demand...

Thanks Stick!  I love building Excel spreadsheets to help cut down on errors in the shop.  I also have a spreadsheet to calculate dimensions of all the parts for raised-panel doors, drawer fronts and drawer boxes.  I'll post that spreadsheet separately.  Tell me what you'd like a spreadsheet to do, and I might try to build one to do it.

So, you finally found us...bout time, Andy.

Glad to see you solved your computer problems and found the time.

Welcome aboard!   Saw your pictures on the other post and very impressive (well, to me...i'm only up to "making a mess" or "making sawdust"...

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing your work!

Ok I'll try to be nice first. Welcome aboard Andy...Glad you found us here. Greatest site on the inter-web...you'll never want to leave...now to challenge you a bit...

Morning Y'all,: If'n ya'll are from the heart of Dixie, shouldn't the initial greeting have been Morning, All, Y'all as the plural? :P

I know Stick from over at Router Forums, and he was kind enough to invite me here.: I promise we will never hold this against you in any fashion...

I still love bulldozers, cranes and things that make sawdust.: what kind of woodworking do you do where you use bulldozers & cranes to make sawdust?;)

OK, so that's how some of us roll around here when it's too darn cold to work in unheated shops...have fun and hope to see you around lots!

so hold the fort...

no one mentioned the donut dowry...

Yankees (anyone north of Tennessee is a Yankee to folks down here) should never attempt to instruct Southerners on how to speak Southern English.  There's just too many nuances in our language for an outsider to ever hope to grasp.  But I'll try to lift the veil just a bit for you.  Y'all is plural, the contraction of you all.  We seldom use the term "all y'all", but when we do, it's for emphasis.  "All Y'all" means every single one of you with no exceptions.  "All Y'all are in for a whuppin if'n ya' don't straighten up."

I had to break out my urban dictionary because you'nz  guys weren't making much sense.

you'nz

Contraction of You and Ones, Similar in usage and definition to y'all, but local to north-western Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh.

Alternate spellings:
younze
younz
yins
yinz
youn'z
Are you'nz gonna ride rollercoasters at Kennywood?

More like south-western PA.

Like Soda vs. Pop...soda is Philly speak and pop is how the normal people spoke. Then there is the southern version where..." Would you like a Coke" refers to any brand of carbonated beverage.

Anyway...you'se is NYC/NJ and you'nz is just plain wrong....

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
