December 12, 20169 yr As I ramp up for my shaker chair building, I am getting excited over some of the processes of this project. Weaving the seat is one of them. I am going to weave a few of them, then I'll pass that duty on to my younger daughter, she loves this type of craft. Anyway, I just thought it a fun video to watch, either that or I'm getting old and boring Keep an eye out for the cool shaker chair vise! Here is a plan for it. http://www.woodworkersjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/Shaker-Weaving-Vice-Drawings.pdf

December 18, 20169 yr Really cool John. Great idea and personal touch to create and place the chair story within the weave. I love finding surprises like that to learn of any items history. The chair vise is awesome...now I know where "gear heads" like me got the idea for small block engine stands. The chair vise could be modified for a number of shop projects too. Enjoyed just looking around in her shop at the benches and like plus the rough sawn wood floor. Looking forward to your build...don't forget to insert the story in each.
December 18, 20169 yr Author I loved that chair vise too Gramps, it almost gasped with glee when I saw it. I'll keep the project chronicled here, for sure!
