or log you can't pick up...

Well...one could buy that saw, and sell 3 of those risers blocks for about $50 each......

I don't know, might be too big to stuff into my van....

that is the same saw I have only in the ridgid brand and have 1 riser block ,it will saw 11" hi.But I had to increase the motor size to get that because the motor will not pull that much of a cut.

I can see why he is selling .probably went to a larger saw.

Herb

Might lay it on it's side and make a mill out of it with a 5HP gas engine.

Maybe hook it up to the power take off on the 4X4 and straddle the log, start it up and back up in reverse.

Herb

add a 20 horse engine and away you go.

Use the tractor and the flat belt like the old timers used to do.

Ya know - - - it dawned on me that this thing might have a perfectly valid use

Sawing up  Styrofoam sheets to insulate tractor trailers.

@Fred W. Hargis, Jr...still shows available...think I read somewhere else you just bought some new step work-platforms...would look good in your new shop plus you've now got the means to reach the tension lever...:D:D Probably should invest in a fall prevention harness though...

I don't think you would like that, the shop and you would be covered  with syrofoam dust in short order. They make hot wire cutters for that  chore.

Might be able to buy a knife blade, take awhile to sharpen all the teeth back to a knife  blade.

I had another thought, buy the saw remove 3 riser blocks and sell them for $50. each, they will fit a number of brands of saws. and get a 108" blade and you are ready to go.

I don't think a person could get enough tension on the blade the way it is, besides not having  enough power to cut with it.

Who ever did that wasn't thinking quite right.

Herb

An after thought, maybe this guy was a boat builder and was sawing balsa or foam blocks for infill for fiber glass.Hmmmmmmm

The idea about selling the extra riser blocks came up a few times, and it's a good one. There are a number of times someone bought one of those older Delta/Rockwell saws and want a riser. If they have all the other parts (the guard extension, etc.) they may well be worth more than the saw.

Fred those are pretty standard,I have a Ridgid, but the same as the Jet,Grizley ,Delta, I think even the HF is the same, the castings are all made in the same mold. You are right about the guide bar/blade guard is longer

I think Delta has two or three different styles of guide bars.
