November 9, 20169 yr Popular Post comment_83502 Short post today, relatives arrival any moment. A video from Carl Jacobson where he turns a green bowl- Green wood is always fun to turn! The Woodturning OnLine newsletter arrived this week. Several really interesting items. The first is something I find myself having more interest in which is turnings with pleasant shapes. This is a PDF article that can be downloaded from http://www.capecodturners.org/home/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/form-demo.pdf. I found a lot of useful information in it. The second should interest some of our ornament makers. Turning a birdhouse ornament- Speaking of ornaments, Mr. David Reed Smith made available a how-to-do on an ornament display stand Here's a link to his instructions- http://www.davidreedsmith.com/Articles/HemisphericalOrnamentStand/HemisphereOrnamentStand.html. Check out the neat way Mr. Smith creates round ball turnings. If you are a fan of Tim Yoder, Woodworking has season 3 episodes 1-6 on DVD- http://www.shopwoodworking.com/woodturning-with-tim-yoder-season-3-episodes-1-6-dvd?utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=pww-jru-nl-161107&utm_content=894461_PWE161107&utm_medium=email As for me, I did finish the chip and cheese platter- Safe turning- Report
