Friday, Nov. 4th, What's on Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda?

Today is one of the first real hints fall is in the air around here. A cool front came through last night and today we are in the mid 70's and expected to be mid 40's tonight. I'll be doing an outdoor show tonight so it should be really nice weather. 

 

I made a batch of Edge Grain Cutting boards and a batch of End Grain cutting boards this week. Finished branding them this morning.

 

I also milled up some oak for rails and stiles for 16 cabinet doors I've got to make. Cut them to rough size and milled them, not got to cut them down and start making mortise and tenons.

 

 

I had another job that had to be finished this week, so I made a some cutting boards up and engraved them and got them delivered Thursday morning.

 

 

So next week we will be back to working on some other projects.

Some great looking "stuff" there John...like others curious about your branding process...Professional++; obviously you've been a busy boy this work!  Hope the show does well tonight.

 

After wrapping up my domestic duties today, met my wife in 'town' for lunch, then we performed our Constitutional Right and for the first time ever voted early. A couple of remote locations away from the County Courthouse...still stood in line for about 20 minutes...better than the Primary though,,,1-1/2 hours. Ran a couple errands after and picked up some paint to paint a couple plane bodies.

 

Tomorrow, start mowing & mulching again...lot of leaves came down after the rains and t-storms this week; grass is still growing like April & May...try getting a chisel or two &/or plane iron a day sharpening done; at this rate, should be caught up by next Presidential election...swim practice chauffeur duties tomorrow too... got some glue up done on a couple projects from some scrap poplar...will catch the IU football game...no need to listen to Purdue

 

Sunday, no reason to watch the Colts; they'll be lucky to end up at .500...probably will pick-up on the Cub's tag line, "wait 'til next year!" since the Cub's are done using it. Still have outdoor stuff that needs to come indoors before winter...dog needs a bath BAD!

Yea, I'm curious about how you engraved those as well. For myself, finally tomorrow, it's showtime!! Wife and I will be displaying my turnings at our first show.

Sunday is the meeting day for our wood turning club. Something I look forward to all month long. Later in the week, I gotta whole bunch of walnut to turn into bowl blanks.

It it belongs to my SIL but he is working out of state right now and told me I could use it.

I don't know a lot about the laser engraver and I was kinda learning on the job. The largest size piece I can put in it is 8"x14". 

They sent me a jpeg and I brought it into the computer. Everything is in mm and it took me a a bit to convert.

Working on a singer island for the kitchen. Got the top glued up yesterday and clean up and sanding today, well until the pad on my 333 gave up the ghost. 

 

also so worked on the second stage glue up for the chess board

Don't know how I forgot this . Went to gunshop this AM and bought a JR 9mm carbine. Been looking for AR accessories online tonight to get an idea what I want on it before the gunshow next weekend. This this thing is cool and uses glock mags. Guess this means more range time. Oh pity poor me.......

My brother has other plans for tomorrow so I will have extra shop time.  Been working on string tops and have 36 of them done.  Hope to have 48 after tomorrow.

That is a nice Carbine. 

I went to a gun show last weekend and picked up a Remington 870 Express tactical. Put my Red Dot on it.

Nice gun John. I have an 870 Wingmaster aprobably have not put a box of shells thru it in 40 years.

Right now it has five 00 buck.
