October 8, 20169 yr It IS a bit too large for my shop, though.. Not sure what was in the crate on the floor....was able to get a better photo of some of the name Somehow, I don't think is is a wood turning lathe.....I did find a steadyrest, lying on the floor.. There is an overhead Line Shaft to drive it. Did not see a motor, though. That "stick hanging down is a "gear shift" for the belt drive. Estate sale, a few miles south of here...
October 8, 20169 yr Steve, betcha thats an American Tool Works metal lathe. A buddy down the road has its younger brother. Made in Cincy. His is also one massive piece of iron.

October 9, 20169 yr That thing is too massive for most garages but think of the things you could make with it.
October 9, 20169 yr Sadly what likely will happen is some "scrapper" will buy it for pennies and haul it off to sell as scrap iron.
October 16, 20169 yr all fixed up that can be a nice lathe but to fix that one you might need to be ( or learn to be) expert in way scraping
