OK, after that PSA, and running a few errands....

stone no. 1.JPG

Puddled some 3in1 oil, and gave that chisel a workout..

Missing oil is on my jeans.....bad habit of wiping the blade off to check progress.   Rest of the oil stayed on top of the surface....on to Stone #2..

Stone is a dual grit.   Oil stayed put, this is after a workout with the chisel.   No seepage of the motor oil out the bottom, either.    Seemed to work.

Well when you decide to tap into one and need the spouts I probably have 3 or 4 laying around...and no I'm not a packrat either!

Ha ha....still have my old steel spout(s) around in the garage...along with my timing light and dwell meter (probably covered in dust or cobwebs) up on a shelf hiding.

I may have to try that heavy weight oil on a couple of my old stones....

no, not those.  :P

Maybe that is what is wrong with my knee?   1/2 a quart low on oil?:o

Checked a bit ago....still no signs of the motor oil seeping back out.   Seems to have made the old coarse stones  better to use.   The 3in1 oil just sits on top of the stones.

Now, where do they put that dipstick to check the oil level in a knee....

;)
