I'm with ya a hundred percent on that Dan, we have a copy right for the content of our community, we use the Creative Commons Attribution. This copy right is used in our files downloads area, and we should include the advisory link at all our forums and throughout our community. We will work on that. In a nutshell, the copyright provides for the free use of all our content, even commercially, as long as credit is given to the creator of the content. So in Teds Woodworking situation, you would have a legal recourse if Ted downloaded your turning from our community, and used it for their promotions, and did not give credit or attribution to you.
September 23, 20169 yr Hey if anyone out there can take something I might have made on my own and go and make millions with my originals, do so with my blessings. I really didn't think hobbyist like myself was so selfish. I really like it that I can go through the internet , find something, print it, glue it on a piece of wood make it and show it here for all you guys to see. I hope by me showing things I make can help convince others to think well if ole smallpatch can do that being 105 years old then by golly I think I will try doing it also. I read sayings like, well you sure got more patience than I . I could never do something like that at my age, bull shirts. I think too many guys thinks they are not capable of anything except turning the TV on and that is bad. Then here comes guys who thinks their ideas are worth millions. If that is you, you might aught to get down to the copy right office right now, if their is such a place. I just think something you have made or can turn on a lathe has already been done thousands of times.....

I still take oblique pictures on most of it. Edited September 23, 20169 yr by Fred Wilson
