September 18, 20169 yr get the blade to fit the job... only abot 300 different ones to pick from... compliments of Bosch and the blades are Bosch numbers.. JIGSAW BLADE GUIDE.pdf
September 20, 20169 yr Out of all the choices I have only two favorite blades that I keep in stock, both Bosch of course. My overall favorite for general purpose is the T101BF. It is a bimetal blade and will take an occasional hit from a nail or screw and keep on going. My second choice is the T101AO, it is only 3/16" wide and cuts on both up and downstroke. It is great for tight scrolling cuts on wood up to 3/4" thick

September 28, 20169 yr For years, all I had was a cheap B&D jigsaw that I used very infrequently. I was always of the opinion of that mantra of the '60s -- buy a cheap stereo and good speakers. Cheap saw - good blades. Story: I ended up getting a Grizzly knock off of Bosch because I use it infrequently and didn't want to spend Bosch money. One of those few times I've cheaped out on tools, which I universally end up regretting. The setscrew that holds in the blade fell out and got lost. Grizzly insisted it was 1/4" and apparently they got a deal on a box of 6mm setscrews at one time and put them in. Then of course, I had to buy longer Allen wrenches because the standard sized ones aren't long enough. I could have ordered the (wrong) part from Grizzly and paid some exorbitant shipping charge. When I asked, they told me I could have ordered up to $25 in parts for the same shipping charge. (Most companies would have just shipped me the part gratis). Similar issue with a drill press -- non-standard part on a 35 cent bolt. Won't buy anything Grizzly again. They spend millions with two page spreads inside the front cover of every magazine I get, and they lost a customer over a stinking piece of hardware.
March 20, 20206 yr I don't know who from Grizzly told you it was 1/4"... Grizzly's tools is all metric.
