Short video of using Sketchup to design a segmented bowl for the lathe. The captions are in Spanish (I think). It is kind of neat. Not sure if the captions describe the transition from the wood to the bowl shape.

 

 

That was an interesting video and my limited experience with sketchup makes me believe it would be great at planning a segmented turning. I have to say though, that finished bowl looked little like the profile he had on sketchup.

Good thing the pictures were in English.  Never learned to use Sketchup.

I thought that, too. I'm going to have to play with it a little to see which steps he left out.
