Looks like we had a pretty interesting group of woodworkers, and non-woodworking going on this past weekend! Thanks to all who chimed in and told us all! One thing we can all be sure of, I gotta tell yall, as much as I do not want to rush life, I sure am envious the time you retirees have available!

BIBM: John I can tell you, it came about before I planned for it to occur and the time since seems to pass exponentially. It sure doesn't pay as well, but honestly don't need as much either. I've got so many projects that I planned to do "when I retired" that haven't got so much as a second look yet, but I've done things I never planned or expected too.

All in all, I don't know how I ever had the time to work a full-time job all those years. That being said, once in a while I look around at what I know needs done vs what I'd like to do, grab a second cup of coffee and say "the he** with it, I'm not going to do anything today (OK, shave & shower is still a given:P)  That my friend is one of the things retirement does afford but one must also concede that's 24 hours you never can re-coup.Just my late night ramblings...

Aint that the truth Dave! These 24 hours just go by so fast, sometimes in one breath.

Isn't it amazing how what we planned for in retirement gets changed almost every day. Like the things we buy because we decide we cannot take it with us. Then those great WW projects are now just pipe dreams. Hey but then we find something new to do in the shop, so what the heck does it all matter in the scope of life. I garuntee you will not have as much time or get as much done when you retire. But then "what the Heck" just do what you want.

wouldn't you know it...

My best feeling after retirement?  I don't feel rushed anymore.

Well, just getting back into things.  After a short trip last week, we had company over the weekend and into Monday night - so no shop, and very little surfing time the past few days.

On tap for this week, a couple etching jobs.  A custom mirror now that the customer has agreed to the design, and a quick couple designs to place on a  Yeti mug.  For folks that did not migrate from Wood, one of my hobbies is sandblasting glass and mirrors.  Some get painted, some not.  They range from small glassware and bakeware to the largest being a glass door for a gun cabinet I recently completed.

Another hobby I have is my old car - a '72 Plymouth Duster that I completed a "resto-mod" on a few years back.  I need to adjust the carb and do a good detail on it to prep for a car show in a couple weeks.  It is not a show car, it is a driver that I really enjoy, but I do take it out to a couple car shows during the year to spend time with other car guy friends.  Sometimes I bring home a trophy, sometimes I don't.  I always have a good time though.

Another hobby is my home and yard.  I have some yard work to get going on since we have had some rain.  I plan to mow the lawn and do all the related chores today.

And another still is my woodworking!  I want to get some pine 2x6x10's milled down this week.  No fine joinery here, they will be used to make some scaffolding for use in the stair well.  I plan to remodel the upstairs this coming year (full bath & two bedrooms) and the scaffolding will make life easier and safer to paint and work the stairwell area.

I think that is a pretty busy week.  The glasswork and lawn care are "must-do", the other projects are "would like to get dones".

With all these hobbies, I don't have time to work!

Just one question, @John Morris. In the first post you say you live in 'Southern CA'. Where exactly IS Southern Cyano Acrylate?
