I wonder how I'd fit in with that shop?

perfect!

Just think, some can't even cut a piece of wood if the tool doesn't have a cord. Look at the work that can be done with just hand tools!

Those pictures are awesome!

John, thanks so much sir for taking the time and getting those images up here. I looked at each and everyone and I examined every detail. The work is fabulous.

What you mentioned about the weather, with the rain outside, no lights inside, and I am assuming no digital sounds of any kind, like a radio, so the ambiance must of been incredible too. I love rain, I love a shop like this, and I love that work, what a dream. Thanks John

Your right John, no sounds other then the sound of the plane or saw they were using of the mallet striking the chisel. Rain on the roof and each one was working on their part. They shop was not huge either, but well organized.

It was very peaceful and they were wonderful to stop and explain every detail of what they were working on.

We are planning on going back sometime next year, we enjoyed it that much.

That's what I thought, beautiful, just beautiful.

That's pretty close to the one in the joiners shop Steve.

This one is a replica of a 200 year old tool chest but was made in the joiners shop.

I bet it's not Stick. I bet if you had the time, and could actually sit down and study the drawings, and approach each process with diligence, and care, you could do it, I think any of us here could. We just have to believe we can.

One thing I remember the most when I was down in the 70's was the stone steps that went into each building. They was stepped on so much that a few inches was rubbed off from the foot traffic. Each stone was dipped a few inches. Now how many steps would it take to do that?

Showing off the old tool boxes I still have my grandfathers tool box.
