Friday, May13th, Whats on Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda?

Featured Replies

Here it is Friday the 13th and nothing wild has happened in the shop today. Still have all my fingers and it has been a productive day. I finished the assembled of the Cedar Chest I have been working on and now it is ready for the finish. With any luck, I will get it done this weekend and have it ready for a show next weekend.

I have a batch of seven large end grain cutting boards to sand and I have got to make a batch of medium and smalls to have ready next weekend.

So for the next week I will keep the shop lights on and stay pretty busy.

What is on your woodworking agenda this weekend? All of us here at TPW love to see the various projects you all are working on. So post a picture and tell us about your weekend woodworking plans.

I need a nap! Just got in from keeping 21 Vo-Tech teenage boys and girls corralled and busy and now we are entertaining relatives!

I know you told us before John, but what is the DT jig you are using? I am researching them now for a possible purchase.

Fine looking chest there John, there are times where I wished I could do more than just turn. :)

As for what I am doing, I have a piece that I am finishing up here this weekend, that I posted recently.

It's not going to go the way that I had hoped, but it's going to be close enough that I wont worry about it.

After that is done, I have a few pens to make, and I also plan on making a mini birdhouse or two. It will likely carry me into next week, but that's OK, I like long term plans. ;)

Have a safe weekend everyone.

Rust Hunts:

Some saws..

$8 shot...

three more dollars shot.   Then found a box..

Had three cordless drill/drivers, four batteries, and a pair of chargers.   Box did say all for $5, right.

Might sneak back out there tomorrow, and see what's left....

Letting these cook for awhile.   Not too sure about the one 18v charger.....at least I have another one of those.

That's a gorgeous chest, John. It won't last long.

Thanks for your sacrifices, Lew. But, we both know it's fun.

Looking good, Charles. It's going to be a pretty one.

Finally got the Morris chair off the bench. Now, we're packing for the trip to VA. The shop is closed for the next three weeks.

Thanks Gene. I just hope I don't cut or break anything trying to sand it up.

I'll answer for John because I gave the same dove tail jig.  It's a Peachtree 30 inch jig.  I love mine and I'd guess John would say the same.

My Saturday will be spent working on an ottoman for my son.  He built one a few years ago but a visiting dog chewed one leg. I also got elected to make some yard dice for a lawn Yatzee game.

Yard Dice? That sounds interesting, How big are those?

3 1/2 x 3 1/2 Charles.  I bought an 8 ft 4x4 Douglas fir.  I'll make a template for the pips and cut them in using a router bit in the drill press

We'll be in Virginia week after next.

Here is the link to Peachtree's site. I bought the jig at The a Woodworking Shows at quite the discount.
