Friday, March 25th, What's on Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda this Weekend?

Featured Replies

Today is Good Friday and even better for me it is my last day at work. I now join the ranks of the retired.

Not much going on in the shop for me this weekend as I will have family here and Celebrating on Sunday our Risen Savior.

I hope you all have a great weekend and get time to spend with family.

I'll catch you all on Monday as I start my new schedule..

The kitchen island/table left yesterday!

No woodworking here, the grass is starting to grow so I need to rearrange the shed. Mower out (oil change/blade sharpened) and snow blower to the back (hope this isn't a mistake!)

Congratulations on joining the retired group. You'll be busier now than before!!!

Have some things on the bench but no time to get to them.

Finished 40 "hand crosses" and shipped out to our daughter in Ark. on Monday.

She called last Wednesday night asking if I could make them for a class at her Church. Like last time that's all I could think about that night!

As soon as I get this new computer working right I'll post some pics.

Here is a picture of my retirement cake a co-worker made. The plane and other items on the cake are edible.

It was awesome.

The plane on the cake is the size of a Stanley No. 2

Now that's one cool cake! Was it walnut flavored?

It taste very good.

That cake has better grain than most of the wood in our shops

To survive the driving.

To stage yet one more Egg hunt.   Has a plan this time.  No stuffing plastic eggs with candy and hiding them in the yard.

Missus me and I hatched a plan to get the girls  to (a) not compete and (b) have a more challenging time.

A fixed number of plastic eggs each in a variety of  colors.

Each child can only accumulate certain colors the other child gets the other colors  A small number of Wild Card eggs rounds the bunch.  Each egg is worth a fixed amount in coin of the realm.

Result: they worked together,  had fun, and we got to watch them being little again  - - maybe for the last time.

I'm tired.

Congratulations big John!!!!!! And that was a wonderful cake too!

John, from the bottom of my heart, I am so happy you finally made it, and one piece too! Now, I said one piece, but you got some damaged pieces on the way.

What a wonderful time of your life you are going through right now, congrats John, and I wish you the best in your retirement, now get back to work!!!!!:P

Congrats, John!

Your co worker is an artist, for sure.
