January 12, 201610 yr I was wondering where can I find a draw knife, looked around here but far an in between,I have some cedar I want to use but need to cut off the bark Edited January 20, 201610 yr by John Morris
January 12, 201610 yr I've seen them at flea markets, around here, usually about $15-$20. I'm not sure if that's a good price, however. Woodcraft has them http://www.woodcraft.com/search2/search.aspx?query=drawknife
January 13, 201610 yr In addition Ron to Lew's most excellent suggestion about Woodcraft draw-knives, you can also do a search on eBay, the used tools selection is there is huge. Here is a search I pulled at Drawknives on eBay.
January 15, 201610 yr I have bought about eight at auctions, flea markets and yard sales. Prices range from around $10.00 and up depending on the draw knife.
January 18, 201610 yr Author thanks guys, will look at Ebay for sure ,not many flemarkets around here have them lol
January 19, 201610 yr I may be able to help you out if you have interest in refurbishing one. I have some spares in the shop that I will sell. Let me know if you have interest.
January 19, 201610 yr If there is a Menards in your area, they do sell new ones. The two I have I got at a barn sale this past summer.. 8" straight edge, and a 10" curved knife. Maybe a dollar for the two......
October 15, 20169 yr I have 10 or 11 old ones and I think no two of the same brand. If you are ever in my area, give me a call. Breckenridge, Tx I can get the names if interested!! Now, I just noticed this is an old post, oh well you might still need some and I also have 20 or 30 old planes if interested. Some came from Canton first Monday.

October 21, 20169 yr Smallpatch: I have wanted to go to First Monday for several years. Is it worth the time?
October 21, 20169 yr Oldwoodie our first monday and yours have the same name but can't say it would be beneficial for you to go. We live 400 miles round trip from Canton, Tx making a drive through Fort Worth and Dallas twice for Canton is east of there but yes, first monday is the best place in Texas for old stuff. We use to try to go three times or more a year but lately I can't think of one thing I need new or old for working on wood. I just need more time in the shop...... Strange but I think I am getting to feel better as each day and month and years passes. We live north of I-20 about 35 miles and Canton is about 3 miles south of I- 20. If it wasn't for the mountains between Ft. Worth and Dallas it would be a good drive. One walk through Canton which would take a few hours without stopping would yield at least 10 planes and 5 draw knives. Maybe some the same model but hey, they can be traded with your buddy or somebody. A car ride four or five times is necessary for all of Canton for it is spread out.
