I have been working on this Walnut bench for a while and I am getting real close to finishing. It is now all assembled and just needs a final sanding to smooth everything out and have it ready for a clear spray finish.

 

 

I had a horrible mistake earlier this week. I turned it upside down to put the piece for the top in. I put it on the flat plywood so everything would be flat and level. Well when I turned it over the pocket screws were coming out the top of the center cross pieces. Thankfully it was those and they were easy to replace. Had it been the end pieces I would have been making a new bench.

 

 

I also got eight edge grain cutting boards glued and ready to sand flat. Trying to get a jump on this years cutting board season.

 

 

So I will be in the shop tomorrow and trying to finish up a few of these. I also had the panels glued and sanded for a Cedar Chest. I should get the dovetails cut and get it started to assembly.

First let me say that my mouth is watering with all that wood you have stacked there John, I wish I had some wheels to come grab some LOL...

 

Well for me this weekend, I will be playing with toys and pens, pretty much just getting some shop time because I can, not because of any particular project.

It would help if i could find my glue gun which i have been looking for now for the better part of an hour.

I finally did find the glue gun but my idea didn't work...Oh well

Hmmm, all I had was four 4x4x30"s to cobble into something....Got it down to the assembly stage, now...

Still needs a bit of work.  The only wood used was those 4x4s....Not too worried about corner blocks being angled a bit....as long as they hold. Maybe by Sunday, I can add a finish?

Even got the base pulled into almost square.  Just a cheap table???

Hopefully, I finish making the second of two lofts for my grand daughters so that they can be finish ready by Monday.  Been a long haul.

Considering i just got home from work, its still friday for me.

I sent some maple through the planer the other day and brought it down to the bacement to warm up a bit, its for a small work bench where i can keep warm.

 

 

I won't be getting much shop time this weekend. My wife is out of town for the weekend so I will be spending time with my son. I am, however, working on plans for a toy chest and a drop front desk for a couple of customers that I am hoping to get started on next weekend.
