Friday Nov 13th, What's on Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda?

Featured Replies

I have been a bit absent from the forum this week. My wife had a conference in Chattanooga, TN this week so I have been out doing a bit of Patriot Picking. I'll give you a few picture of the items I picked but I will talk about them more in the Hand Tool Forum.

Since I have been away all week I have not done any work in the shop, but we will be busy this weekend when we arrive in tonight. Tomorrow will be a fill day as we have four Egg Tables to get out, a bench and several cutting boards. Sawdust will be flying, actually I hope it is all going to the Dust Collector.

So while I have been out this week I found  a few deals and some items I wanted to add to the collections.

One of the first items was this old Stanley Square with rosewood handle and brass.

The only missing item is the wrap around depth gauge and of course all of the blades that would go with it. More about that later.

I then ran into a few Boxwood Rulers. First up is a Stanley No. 27 that is in awesome condition.

I then found this Stanley No 136 1/2 Boxwood and Brass Caliper.

And then I ran across this nice Upson Nut No. 68 Ruler.

So that is about it so far but we plan on making a few stops on the way home this evening when her conference ends at noon today.

So what is going on in your Patriot Woodworker shops this weekend or what is on your agenda? We here at TPW love to see all the wonderful projects you build or the great old tools you rescue and keep alive for a little longer.

We'll be checking in to see what you are up to this weekend.

Till them, I am heading out for a little Patriot Picking....

Tomorrow is my Mom's 90th birthday. All the siblings are in town. So we will be entertaining.

We are also entertaining.  We had a Japanese exchange student when my son was in high school.  She, her husband and son live in Columbus Ohio and will be spending the weekend with us.  It'll be fun.

We will also be visiting with wife's cousin who's in AZ for a wedding. Just a mid day meal in Payson, but it's two hours away. Kinda blows the better part of Saturday. Sunday will be spent in chair assembly.

Moving a chairlift for a friend of mine on Saturday, then disassembling an older wash stand style dresser, cleaning, filling damaged veneer and then painting.  A teal base with gloss white top.  Hope to get it done and up on Craigslist and out of the garage/under foot after dodging it all summer.

Then, starting the base and legs of a table top.  Using reclaimed lumber for this one.

Will
