Did you know that Random Orbital Sanders Bite?

Featured Replies

Did you know that sanders bite? While sanding cutting boards for Christmas sales with my ROS with 220 grit paper on it, the cord got stuck on the edge of my work bench. So I gave it a good tug and it came loose much easier than I anticipated so the sander ended up hitting my left hand cutting it deeply in the soft flesh between my thumb and index finger. Good thing I was using 220 grit instead of 80 grit. So after bleeding all over the garage floor getting to the paper towels, I got the bleeding under control and then wrapped it up and headed to the clinic to get it sewed up and now I got 6 lovely stitches. So I took the rest of the day off from working in the garage and will get back to it tomorrow.

Allen,

Ouch! :o

I did something similar a few years back with a big angle grinder, it got me just above the left knee.

It took out a chunk about 2" long by 1/2" deep. All they could do was put a dressing over the hole.

I still have a pretty decent scar there.

Ouch is Right!

My Achilles Heel is a utility knife. Anymore, I think I automatically start bleeding when I see one. I know if I pick it up, a cut will soon follow.
