Friday again and time to spend a little more time in the shop.

The University of North Alabama Alumni Association is having a fund raiser tonight with a Guest Chef who is a Grad of UNA.

I was ask to supply for them to use, 16 of my cutting boards which will be used to serve from and be available for sale to those there at the dinner. I was excited to be ask as the culinary department will also be helping in this event. Some of the chefs will get a chance to see and maybe use my cutting boards.

So we were busy making extra boards this week. We had enough end grain boards but needed some extra Edge Grain boards.

I also picked up this week a load of Hickory and Chestnut I had sawn.

I had several pieces cut into slabs that are about 2 to 2 1/2" thick and 9' long. It will take a while before they are ready to use but should make some nice pieces.

In the morning we will be delivering this Cherry Island top. This is an earlier picture, I forgot to take a new one this morning. I'll update this later.

We have a couple of other projects we are working on and will update those later also.

But how about you sharing with us here at TPW what is on your agenda this weekend? We love to hear all about all of the wonderful projects and see picture of them.

Have a great fall weekend in your shop and be safe...

What a great honor to be asked to supply those cutting boards! Who knows- that may turn out to be a full-time job just supplying the culinary program grads!!!

What does this tell ya John?  We'll be in South Bend.

Making a couple of pens and a keychain piece. The pens will be from kits that I have not done before so I hope they turn out well.

Pictures as i get them.

Have a great weekend everyone!

It has to make one proud to be asked to do such a thing based on the quality of your work. Congrats! As for me, I will proving (once again) that someone with my lack of skills has no business doing drywall work. I'm trying to finish one wall in our garage that wasn't rocked when the house was built (1991).  I'm pretty sure there's something I'm worse at than finishing drywall, but at the moment I can't think of it. Actually, I impress myself with just how poor I am at doing it :lol:. Oh, well. A good thick primer hides a multitude of errors.

Amen to that Lew.  Two things I hate to do.  Drywall and paint.

A little late, but volunteered to help a friend demolish his old home; drywall and insulation into the dumpster and wood into the burn pile. Will be getting some 1800's 2x and 4 quarter lumber to work with.   Repaired the arms of an outdoor rocker for another friend and returned today.  No pictures, but it really happened.

You've been a busy guy Will!
