Old Drill Press

While I was picking last weekend I saw this really cool old drill press.

There is an old sickle standing next to it. This is a picture from the front.

 

Here is one from the side.

I didn't see a name on it but when I ask about it, they wanted $250.00 so I walked away. That may be a bargain but I didn't know enough about it to drop that much on it.

I love the way it tilts.

Those were used back in the day to drill peg holes for barn framing timbers.

It might have been good therapy for your hand.

Went to an auction awhile back....and had to stand there and watch all of these get sold.....just didn't have the spare $$$

They went for about $35 to $45 each.    The one one the left was the only one that could be tilted for an angled hole. Had to settle for a pair of planes....for $5 total....

Man, I hate it when that happens. 

I had to watch an early 1930's Delta combo go for $100.00 

It was the  last 3 machines that would have completed my combo setup.

The motor alone usually goes for more than the $100.00.
