Friday, Aug 21st, What's On Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda

Featured Replies

I will be heading back to work on Monday although the fingers are still numb. Since that was the case and the Dr. told me to do what I wanted to, I took a bit of time in the shop this week.

I cut out and glued up six edge grain cutting boards. They just need squaring up and sanding.

While these were in the clamps, I cut out all of the pieces for five End grain Cutting Boards.

I am heading out of town for the weekend to do a little Patriot Picking before heading back to the everyday work grind.

What do you have on your Patriot Woodworker agenda this weekend? All of us here at TPW love to see the projects you are working on, so post those projects and pictures.

I know the saying about clamps but do you have enough?

Those "Green Egg Tables" are sure nice looking!

I wonder if you sent pics to the green egg people if they'd pick up your tables

If they did, you might have to find  production manufacturing to keep up

Harry, you should see the clamps hanging on his wall.

Well I finally was able to tear down an old playset I built for the kids over 10 years ago. It was sad to see it go. Many memories on that ol playset. It was a very nice play set, built like a tank, not that big box store playset kit, but real lumber with real redwood 4x4's and 2x6's and pine decorative panels and more. They got a ton of use out of it. While I was taking it down, even our neighbor and good friend peeked over the fence and almost had a tear in his eye, he stated it was symbolic of our three kids getting older, and moving up, and he hated to give them up that easily as I un ceremoniously whacked away at one of the 4x4's trying to dislodge it from another section of the play set. I must admit, I was pretty sad too. But it was getting dangerous, the sprinklers had done a fair job at weakening the deck and the posts were getting rotted. Now it sits on our concrete drive pad in the back of our home, laying there dead. I am going to keep the decorative pine panels I made, they are cut out in reverse heart shapes, they surrounded the deck as fence pickets, they survived pretty well, so I'll stick em up in the rafters, when our kids have kids of their own, I'll build them each a play set and incorporate those fence pickets into my future grand kids playsets.

No Harry, I don't have enough and that is only the pipe clamps you see under the work bench.

Cliff I would for sure need a bigger shop. We took an order yesterday from an Egg Dealer in our area for 7 tables and he has them pre-sold. So we already feel like we are in production mode,

But I am loving every minute of it.

John - you are going to have to quit your real job and start a factory.  So much for a hobby, right?

As for me, Sent a map out Friday heading to Japan.  Got frames made for 3 more maps (56 coins).  Will be glueing them up today and spray first coat of lacquer.  Have 4 more maps ready to cut and then stain - also today.

Of course, I will have English football games most of the day - but will pre-empt them for the INdy car race at Pocono.

AND - just might have time for one of my famous naps sometime in all of this.

How about the rest of y'all?

I don't know about those naps Fred.

I get busy and then it's too late in the day. I might as well just go on to bed for the night!
