My friend enjoys old tools and he found this one locally. He said he already had one- not sure of the make. He said this one was pretty cruddy and he cleaned it up. Thanks for the link!

I love finding these old rulers. Most of them have a great patina on them and I just love the way they look and operate. I can just see them sticking out of the top pocket of  pair of overalls and getting used a lot.

I need a friend like that.  Nice piece!

Sweet Lew! I have one, and I use it too! I love the folding rulers. That one there is in wonderful shape, nice gift and great friend! Don't display it, use it! Can you believe back in the day hardware stores would hand those out for free to good customers or for promos?

Wrong Verbiage

Or some carpenter's overalls had a rule pocket on the side below the waist.  I had a pair like that once. Osh Kosh I think.  Had a four fold rule that I kept in there.  Loved the rule.
