Here we are with another great weekend. I now many of you have been working on projects and I'm looking forward to hearing what is on your agenda.

Geeze John,

I can tell you went to an Orthopedic Surgeon.

I had both right, & left done back in 1988.  I went to a Neurologist that went through about a 1" cut at the wrist.

I even watched when he did the second one.

I have a work deadline so I'll be spending some time there Saturday or Sunday getting that finalized.

In the meantime I'm working on some drawers for a mobile multi-function table.

John,

We're supposed to have rain for the weekend here in S.E. WI.

So....I'll be watching/listening to the grass grow while I'm waiting for parts for 2 out of 3 mowers.

No way am I going to try to mow 5+ acres with the 21" walk behind mower.

I got myself feeling kind of ill this morning mowing about 3/4 acre in the front of the neighbors Antique Shop. :(

Man will I be playing catch up when the parts come. <_<

You know how, when you think you're going to get some shop time for yourself, things seem to scheme against you? That's this weekend.

The little girls next door called me over to ask a question (Danger Will Robinson!!). Seems they somehow got an American Girl Doll catalog and wanted "Caroline's Skiff" made. Not having children/grandchildren I'm out of the loop. Mom says "I'll send you the link, can you make this? And, by the way, we're having a birthday party at the end of July."

$205.00 + tax and you can't even put it in the water!!!!

Now, I was in the Navy when the ships were wood and the men were steel. In fact, back then, the aircraft carriers had sails. But, I don't think I can make this.

So, I started an Internet search for plans/examples of what surely must have been done before. After all, I can't be the only cheap skate woodworker whose been asked to make one of these.

The first thing I found was a kit.

$99.00 + tax and shipping

Let's look a little farther!

This was more like it. A shop built one with lots of pictures and comments.

Mom approved the substitute. She even volunteered to make the sail.

So this is what I'm doing for the next several days.

Lew,

That's way cool! :D

BTW American Girl is about 12 miles west of me. ;)

Busy weekend and week coming up  Sunday my youngest grandson is being baptized and Monday morning Allen and Tammi Worsham are stopping by for a couple of days.  I just heard from Fred Wilson and he may be in the area also so we may have a TPW reunion.  Maybe I need to get Steve Newman over here from Ohio.

Lew,

Thanks, Larry. I had never heard of them before. The last doll I can remember my sister having was a "Tiny Tears".

I had carpal tunnel work done on one hand.  Made a WORLD of difference.

So glad I did.

I think you could still grasp a sander John.

I'm in the shop prepping for a show this weekend and getting my lathe and some stock ready to take along camping next week.

i did the right hand two years ago Cliff and it was a huge difference. i was going to do this last year then had my knee replaced.

John,

I had the right done first, and six weeks later the left.

I used to wake up during the night with both hands hurting so bad I couldn't stand it.

The only way I could get any relief was to run hot water over them until they just tingled.

I was on a job using 2 90lb torque air guns that had no granny stops. You had to stiff arm both guns or you would get hit right in the mouth.

They wanted me to train a 5' nothing woman to do that job. I refused to do it because she had to stand on her tip toes just to reach the guns.

I was training a guy bigger than me and told him he had to stiff arm the guns or he was going to get his teeth knocked out.

He didn't listen, and within 5 minutes had 2 teeth knocked out. He dropped right to the floor.

Hope you get a good result from the Surgery.  Things have sure changed.  Used to be that  the bandage after  Carpal Tunnel surgery made it look like you had a soccer ball on the end of your arm.  Have a goood weekend nonetheless.
