Still have to bevel the edge of the lid to match the top. flush cut a few Walnut plugs, and then think about a bit of finish.   Trying to decide which way to show off a couple knots in the lid.

If I keep the knots low, there is a narrow filler strip up at the hinges....If I reverse this, and put the filler strip at the bottom

Knots would almost be centered.   Have the top, where the lid will hinge to, attached

7 screws, to hold it in place, counter-bored and plugged with Walnut plugs.   I have a plug cutter and made my own plugs.   Waiting on the glue to cure out, before a chisel and block plane make them flush.   Efev cleaned up the dovetailed corners

Slight roundover at the corners.

We be getting there, getting close to the finish line, now.

Nice!  I like the pencil/pen trays.

If you leave the knots unfilled, then probably put them towards the top so they don't interfere with the writing surface.

i like the knots. i usually fill them with Epoxy and sand smooth. You can still see them and they don't interfere.

Nice job Steve.
