Well, a local village had a village wide garage sale day.   Seemed about every other  house was selling, or other.....I was after the "other"

First place I bought anything had a pair of 24" F style clamps..."How much?"   "Dollar, for the pair"  Sold!

Wandered around, found the Antique Store.....wat too high on their old tools, pass.

Wandered around a block or three....table had a few pliers on it....sign said $1 for all three....sold

so here they are.  Nail set came a little bit later.  Two pair of Diagonal cutters, and a small pair of Linesman pliers.   The blue handled one is by *Worth*

Went past another place, stopped to look around...nose smelled rusted something, or other....Place I stopped at had a pruning saw, double edged, but..BENT, pass

However, just across the street, a Funeral Home was having a sale too.....

No caskets though, but I did find a box of stuff...

What was so special about a rusty old tool box?   Well, for one thing, it was a Snap-On tool box, $2 and it was full of goodies.

First off, though, here is the cleaned up tool box

post-3502-0-72713400-1432005774.jpgWith a coat of green Rustoleum to stop any more rust.   Inside this treasure chest?

Well there were two chisels to clean up, and one to rehandle

Not sure about the yellow handled one, but the LONG one is a Witherby  by WETW of CONN.   about 1915-1920ish

There were a few wrenches

Including some Tappett wrenches by Wright Tool & Forge, of Barberton, OH.  There was a Snap-On nut driver thingy, and a Obstruction Brake wrench by Bonney.   The Bonney is from 1923. There was that bike wrench like thing, and that Baltimore USA 62 nail set.   But wait, there was more down in there

Seems there was a few from the Traction Line/ Rail Road that went through the town.  The long, single end one even has the Line's letters stamped on it.   There was even a track spike.

So, for about $4 total in tools, plus a couple for snacks and a DEW, not too bad a Rust Hunt?   The last of those rusty items got a clean up today ( WHEW!!)

But, there was one item I'm not too sure about.  It LOOKS like a Blacksmith had used it a bit, the tapered end was forged that way

Maybe a Smith's drift pin?   been well beat up.  Tapered end comes to a chisel-like point.     Been fun looking up all these different tools.  Might have found a couple "keepers"?

Makes  one wonder what a Funeral Home needed those tools for.  HMM?
