April 13, 201511 yr A little envelope, between what was in it and S&H, cost me $5. A bit to drive slotted screws with a brace. Made either for or by MERIT. 4" long, from tip to tip. BIG screws! set it up in another $5 item from the last yard sale of last year It has "Stanley Rule & Level Co. on the chuck. Might be at least 100 years old? With "VICTOR" stamped on one arm, and No. 935 8in. on the other side of that arm. About 1907-1917? Been slowly lightning the tool box at work, one lunchbox at a time, the latest "haul"... this includes a lot of brass tools, not brass -plated, but solid brass. That pair of slip joint pliers is solid brass. Brass is the preferred way to work inside an injection machine's mold. Won't make scratches in the cavities. Putty knife is also brass. Even a brass screwdriver! Next Thursday morning, i intend to wheel that almost empty toolbox out the door, and load it into my van. Med Leave, and vacation until May 15, then I am retired. Right now, I am just tired... Edited November 21, 20178 yr by Ron Dudelston tags added
April 13, 201511 yr Steve, it's about time you retired! I'd say you deserve it, and your body needs the rest, or recovery time I should say. Now you can do what you love doing. Congrats on the looming retirement, and nice haul of tools too.
April 15, 201511 yr It's wonderful to hear that you are so close to the last day in the factory. Really hope the operation is successful, too. I admit to my ignorance of much in the way of tools outside of woodworking stuff and some plumbing and electrical tools, but brass pliers, screwdrivers and scrapers is way beyond my ken.
