Friday, Feb 20th, What's on Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda?

It seems that winter has finally settled in here in North Alabama. We have not had a day this week above freezing. I know many of you do that all the time,, but give me the heat and humidity. We are being hit again today with a winter storm and snow with possibly 2" of accumulation. For us here, 2" is like 2' to you.

Here are a few pictures from the downtown cameras just a block from where I work.

The good thing is it is suppose to warm up and rain the rest of the weekend and be in the upper 50's. I can handle that.

I do have some cleanup from the ice we had to move through earlier this week. It snapped several limbs from the trees and fell on the fence and swing set.

I also had a Maple Tree removed and it appears just in time but I have a huge pile of maple chips to remove from having the stump ground up. Anyone need any maple, some assembly required!

If I can get into the shop, I have blanks for cutting boards ready to cut and glue in the end grain position.

I had to dissemble the banquet and cut it down 2 1/2" so it is ready to re-assemble.

And we have started on a custom Green Egg table. Got the 4" legs cut and squared.

And the Cedar boards that will make the solid top have been cut, jointed and planned and ready for a glue up. The top will be 6' x 35" x 3/4".

That is what is going on in my Patriot Woodworker shop and I wish I could get all of this done this weekend, but......

So what about you, what is on your Patriot Woodworker Agenda this weekend?

We here at TPW love to hear about and see all of your projects and love to see the in progress pictures. Please share with us you weekend woodshop plans.

Interesting minds want to know!!!!

Triple projects going on in the shop.  I'm applying stain to my grandson's loft/desk/bookcase ensemble.  I also have three rolling cherry shelves to glue up but there's no hurry there since I had to order dye today.  I also need to draw up a sketch for two dressers that I need to quote.  On top of that we have 4 - 6" of snow due tonight so a little snow blowing may be in my future.

a 2 day show this weekend for me so no shop time until Monday. then it will be working on a few special order glue-ups.  1 is a custom cutting board the other is a counter top 26" x 55" . it's a short week in the shop as we have a dinner with the chamber of commerce, a trip to the lumber yard,(always fun for us) and a wedding Friday and Saturday.

Hope you have a successful show John!

You guys that can juggle multiple projects amaze me. I can barely keep track of my feet and a stick of gum at the same time.

I'm gonna make a few more hinges this week end. Gotta get these chests out of the shop so we can start on the chairs. Yeah, that was NOT a royal "we". Phyllis has volunteered to help build the chairs.

John, I'll join Ron in wishing you much success at the show.

A two day wedding in a lumber yard sounds like a blast. ;)

Best of luck with the show this weekend John. Our season kicks off in two weeks and as usual I am behind. I seem to work better under pressure or at least I keep putting myself in that position.

Snow and Ice is gone for the time but now it s raining. It is so soggy here you can't walk across the lawn.

Shows for me kick off mid March - I think it is going to come WAY to quick.

Putting finishing touches on two shadow box maps heading for Illinois, two Eagles (one in 3/4" Red Oak, and the other in Walnut), a Wolf cut in Maple, a birch ply cutting of a mill in TN, "and a partridge in a pear tree".

Fred, please post those projects!!!!!

Kind of snowed in today.   Posting the jack plane family later.

Out to the Tri-County CAC for relief from heating bills.   Still not back to work.   23 hour check is all I have this month.....

Tired of getting snipered on FeeBay, lately.    Trying to stay under that yo-yos radar.

Still snowing outside the window.  no wind, though.   Maybe a photo or two later?

Don't think I need to go outside, today.

Completed the woodworking on the lectern/podium. It is way too cold in the basement shop to even think about applying a finish for now.
