Friday, Nov 21st, What's on Your Patriot Woodworking Agenda?

Featured Replies

Today I have the pleasure to be married to my best friend, shop helper, companion and wife for 40 years. It has been a great adventure that has taken us to many places, met lots of people and brought us great joy! I am so thankful and blessed to have the most wonderful wife.

We are very busy these days in the shop as we are filling Christmas orders along with maintaining stock for one last show that will happen the First Friday in December. We have been so blessed this year with lots of work in the shop during a time where the economy is bad in other places. I never take for granted the orders and business we get.

So we are filling orders this weekend on a couple of Egg Tables, pens, bread boards and a TV shelf. I have no idea what all will get done, but we will be working as much as we possibly can, leaving only enough time on Saturday evening to attend the weekly auction.

So what about the rest of you Patriot Woodworkers, what is on your woodworking agenda this weekend before Thanksgiving and Black Friday? We here at TPW love to see all of the find projects you are making and you never know, your project may just inspire some other woodworker to give it a try.

So come on and post those projects and pictures here and share with us what you are doing this fine weekend.

John,

Happy Anniversary!!

We had our 32nd on the 9th!

I'll be trying to get some work done on the shop.

It's been too Cold to be doing much outside.

I'll be trying to get a Cat 5 cable ran so I can get going on the shop "Komputator" project.

I will also be doing a "test" assembly of the "Komputator's" hardware, so I'll be busy loading OS's etc.

I hope to be "Live" from "The Old Machinery Workshop" sometime this weekend.

That sounds great Larry. I look forward to seeing the inside of the shop when you get in there with the komputator.

John,

I've still got a long way to go, bare walls, ceiling, exposed electrical wiring, etc.

The "Komputator" for now will basically be assembled "Breadboard" style for testing purposes.

The wifes getting tired of the W.D. Allison desk sitting in the front room.

I'm building a boot bench with a matching wall coat rack for my DIL.  Tomorrow afternoon I get to go to a birthday partty for my youngest grandson.

Trying to finish up the garlic thingy sets. The neighbor lady wants me to make 2 jewelry boxes for her daughters, for Christmas. Hope she can give me an idea of what she wants before too long.

Congrats to the "newlyweds".....we are headed for our 44th.

Twin sons are up to celebrate their birthday with their mom's famous German Chocolate cake.

Not much time for the shop. Maybe enough to complete a saw blade holder.

Got a new Tenryu "Silencer" on the way. As Marc Spagnuolo says, "Tenryus kick butt".

No woodworking this weekend. The early winter blast left me without having done some winter prep work I needed to do. With the warmer temps this weekend, and Thanksgiving next Thursday (I'm the cook and housekeeper at out place, wife's disability) I won't have more than a few hours in the shop. Too bad, I have a bath vanity that need to be concluded and installed. Oh, well! BTW, Congrats to You, John.

Happy Anniversary John! Wow! 40 years! Here in California you guys would be considered an anomaly!

This weekend I'll be assembling the Easy Wood Tools loaner box that will go out to our members who want to try out some great Easy Wood Tools and chuck at no cost to them. We'll be taking requests soon to be in line to receive the case of tools. Even the shipping to and from will be all paid for so there is absolutely no cost to the tool tester. All we ask is a review of the tools posted here on The Patriot Woodworker.

But long story short, I have an aluminum carrying case I am retrofitting for the tools, and getting it all secured and looking good, so soon we'll be sending these tools out.

Last night I was able to get in my shop and just dig out some more and get it looking like I can actually work in it. Meanwhile my son was carving on a stick, making a spear, it's amazing how occupied you a 10 year old boy can be with a block plane and a stick! He was quietly busy for a whole hour!

Sounds like you got your hands full John, wish I could be a fly on the wall of Moody Woodworks, I bet the activity level this time of year is fun to watch!

Fred, this winter blast caught everyone off guard. It's this time of year I feel fortunate to live in a warmer climate for the purpose of being able to walk out to my garage without a parka. I hope the environment changes soon for ya Fred, so you can get your wood fix back on.

Look forward to your feedback on that silencer Gene!

Hey Lew, just build them! They'll love them no matter what.

Ron, have fun at the birthday party, cake! Yes!

What are you making the boot rack from, and do you have plans or are you winging it?

Looking forward to the pics of the shop Larry, keep em coming. Hey, if you start calling the Alisson desk a museum piece she'll accept better being in the center of the room, it's all how you present it. :)

I live feed from the Old Machinery Shop would be really cool!

Well guys,

It's going to be a few more days before I'm up and running from the shop.

If the weather here ever decides to give me a break.  :(

It's been snowing most of today.  Double YUK!!!

I'm building a two drawer  pedestal for a pair of front loading laundry machines. Making it rather substantial to take the jiggling of the  heavy washer.

A brilliant idea Cliff, those cost an arm an a leg from the manufacturer, plus you are going to build them much nicer I am sure.
